Volunteers Make a Difference

Volunteerism has always been the "breath of life" for The Lung Association.

We need you
Volunteers are our link to communities across Ontario. We rely on the passion, vision, and dedication of our volunteers to help us achieve our mission — to improve respiratory health.

You can help

Come join our team! Whether you want to volunteer on an ongoing or an occasional basis, your help is welcome and appreciated. A variety of skills and experiences are needed to fill a wide range of volunteer jobs. You're sure to find one that is right for you!

Volunteers are always needed for:
Raising money: Help support our research and respiratory health education work by participating in or assisting with:
  • planning and organizing special events such as the Hike for Clean Air, Golf Marathon, or Festival of Trees.
  • corporate fundraising
  • door-to-door canvassing

Public awareness: Help improve lung health in your community by:
  • distributing information about our services
  • promoting The Lung Association and its work
  • writing articles for your local newspaper
  • advocating on critical issues such as smoking by-laws and air quality
  • acting as a spokesperson

Sustaining activities: Help us be more effective and efficient by:
  • serving on a Community Advisory Board, Regional Council, or the Provincial Board of Directors, or any of their committees
  • providing administrative assistance in one of ouroffices

Message from Jane Wallingford, Volunteer Board Member
"I know about the importance of The Lung Association's work first hand. My daughter, Tara, has had asthma since she was two. When she was a young teen she suffered a severe asthmatic episode and had to be airlifted to a hospital that could treat her. The Lung Association gave us the help and support we needed to help Tara better manage her asthma and improve her quality of life. Please, support The Lung Association today. Thank you."
