Benefit Concert "Love Is In The Air"

Featured artists include sopranos, Kelly Backwell, Patricia Castaños and the classical and popular sting quartet, The Hamstrings of Durham.

Third Annual Pull for Kids

Iroquois Park Sports Centre, Whitby

The Durham Area Office is proud to announce their Third Annual PULL for Kids presented by Faser Ford Sales Limited on Saturday May 3rd.

The Lung Association's PULL for Kids is a fund raising event in which 10 to 12 team members raise pledges to compete in pulling a pumper truck tug-of-war style. We are excited to announce that we will also be holding a Mini-PULL for children aged 10-14 who will pull an SUV.

Many fun-filled activities are planned for this family event. Try your luck in our silent auction, sponsor the Oshawa Fire Fighters or The Whitby Fire Fighters or come along and cheer on the best team.

Join us and PULL for the best team. PULL 10 of your friends together and help us in the fight against asthma. This year's goal is to raise $20,000. All money raised will support our Asthma Action Helpline and help everyone to breathe easier.

Racing Against Drugs
May 5-9 - Whitby
June 9-12 - Bowmanville

Developed by the R.C.M.P. and Ford Canada, Racing Against Drugs has been presented in Durham Region since 1998. The project is designed to promote drug awareness and safety issues along with healthy alternatives such as sports, hobbies, and art.

An arena is transformed in to a racing environment where children experience the excitement of race car displays and competitors on professionally built slot car tracks while listening to and absorbing the anti-drug and healthy life style key messages.

Will Campaign

Call to book an appointment with one of the lawyers who have donated their time to help plan your Will or Powers of Attorney.

A Simple Will costs $100.00 and a Simple Powers of Attorney costs $50.00.

This campaign will be offered the first week of June 2003. Check back for more details in the coming months.

Laps for Lungs School Fundraiser

A new fund raising program for The Lung Association, Laps for Lungs is designed to raise awareness and educate students, teachers and parents about asthma. Thirty percent of the net proceeds will be donated to the participating schools.

Volunteers Needed

Are you interested in making a difference to someone who is living with a lung disease? The Lung Association in the Durham area is now accepting applications for volunteers to join our exciting team who are making that difference.
